Vote for the IHCA Board of Directors

Voting takes about two minutes. You'll tell us who you are, choose your candidates, and confirm. Each facility gets one vote.

Who can vote?

Under IHCA's bylaws, each member facility in good standing gets one vote, cast by one person the facility designates (an employee or someone with its ownership entity). No one may vote for more than one facility. Everyone votes for the general seats, like President. Representative seats — SNF, ALF, ICF, MI/DD, and Hospice/Home Health — are voted on only by facilities of that provider type, and the ballot shows your facility the right races automatically.

You'll need your work email address — free email accounts like Gmail can't be used. If you're not sure whether your facility is a member or who should cast its vote, call IHCA at (208) 343-9735 and we'll help.

How your information is used

We ask for your name, phone number, work email, and facility only to make sure each person votes once. Your choices are never shown with your name, and your contact information is never shared. Read the IHCA privacy policy.

Election Integrity

How IHCA ensures every vote is valid, counted once, and protected

IHCA members deserve an election they can trust. This platform enforces strict safeguards at every step — from the moment you start your ballot to the moment results are certified. Here is exactly how it works.

🏢

One Vote Per Facility

Each member facility may cast exactly one ballot per election. This is enforced simultaneously at the application layer and at the database level with a hard unique constraint — even two simultaneous submissions from the same building will result in only one ballot recorded.

🗳️

Provider-Type Eligibility

Your ballot is built from your facility's provider type. SNF members vote in SNF races. ALF members vote in ALF races. No facility can vote in a race it does not qualify for — and no eligible race can be skipped. The system enforces IHCA bylaws automatically.

🪪

Verified Identity

Every voter must provide a work email address — free consumer accounts like Gmail are blocked. Your email and phone number are each unique per election, so no individual can cast a second ballot even from a different device. You must attest that you are authorized to vote on behalf of your facility.

🔐

Cryptographic Confirmation

Every submitted ballot receives a unique, randomly generated confirmation code. Keep your code — it is proof your vote was recorded. No two ballots share a confirmation code, and no code can be forged or reused.

📋

Full Audit Trail

Every ballot records the submission timestamp, a hashed representation of the voter's network address, and browser information — none of which is tied back to the voter's identity. IHCA administrators can review all ballots and flag any that warrant further verification.

⚠️

Unlisted Facility Review

If a facility is not found in the IHCA member directory, its ballot is accepted but automatically flagged for administrator review before results are certified. IHCA staff verify membership status and dues standing before those votes count.

Real-Time Admin Oversight

IHCA staff have access to a live results dashboard showing vote totals, participation rates, and flagged ballots at any time during the election. No votes are hidden, delayed, or alterable after submission.
